Custom Cabinets in Farr West, UT
Farr West, Utah, is a city on the northern edge of Weber County. It has a population of a little over 8,000. It got its name from Lorin Farr and Chauncey W. West, two prominent settlers of the area. The name also has ties to “Far West,” an important early Mormon settlement in frontier Missouri.
Farr West sits only 30 miles from Snowbasin Resort, one of America’s top-rated ski destinations. It opened in 1940 and hosted the 2002 Olympic Games’ Downhill, Combined, and Super-G races. There are over 3,000 vertical feet and 3,000 acres of terrain for skiers and snowboarders to explore in the winter. During the summer, you can enjoy mountain biking, hiking, and mini golf.
If your kids like prehistoric creatures, you should stop by Ogden’s George S. Eccles Dinosaur Park, located nine miles from Farr West. They have an 8.5-acre sculpture park that features life-sized exhibits and interactive displays. You can also stop by the Odgen Natural History Museum and Stewart Museum of Paleontology (both located inside the park) to learn about geology, minerals, gems, fossils, and prehistoric life.
