Company History

Out of the Woods started with a love for woodworking, carpentry and quality. Tige Rhoades has always been someone who has loved to work with his hands and when he was 18, he started building dressers, gun cabinets and other items for family and friends at a small wood shop his Grandpa let him set up in his barn. A few years later, Tige finished his attendance at Ogden-Weber Technology Center in cabinet making.

He began his career working in various positions at cabinet shops and wood furniture manufacturers. Through these experiences, a couple of things happened. TIge decided he was pretty good at this stuff and could probably be his own boss. He also had a friend with similar experience, and Tige Rhoades and Lonne Rasmussen did a few small jobs together and decided to take the leap into business together. Out of the Woods was born in a small 40’ X 50’ shop in Tige’s backyard in 2001.

In 2005, operations were moved to our current location. In 2007, an 11,000 sq/ft addition was added to the facility, including more operations space, offices and a showroom. In 2010, stone countertop operations were added to our services and a small addition was built in 2013. 2015 saw the need for more space and a new granite fabrication facility was added and this constitutes our current facilities. In 2017, Lonne decided he wished to pursue other interests and Tige took over as the owner and CEO. The love for woodworking and pride in quality has never diminished and is a hallmark of our finished products today.
